This looks like a last throw of the dice to me maybe it's what he needs a few bad results in a row at jr welterweight just like ortiz had and look what the step up did for him but alexander moving up i still think he's going to come up short in any division he's in he needs to build and take his time.

Beating malinaggi what will that prove ? it will prove he has skills but we already know that about him his problem is when it comes to going in the trenches he can't handle the pressure of another fighter Bradley, Matthesse both pressured him and he couldn't handle it he needs to put some power into his jab, pitty patty jabs won't work against a pressure fighter thats why he wants malinaggi no pressure at all you can't go fighting guys that your rivals have fought and dominated kotelnik, malinaggi both got easily beat off khan so a win over them now don't mean much fighting bradley then matthesse is great but then taking a step down and fighting malignaggi come on no one is fooled by this ...

alexander is terrible can't hit grunts like a pig gets hit too much weak and has no fan following. what cable would want to show this clown fight?? no one wants to watch this over hyped untalented street kid fight or try to fight. sad he is terrible.

i'll give him the benefit of the doubt on his decision to move up. i mean, who's to say any of the other fighters at 140 couldnt move up to fight him too? i'll give him credit for the quality of opposition recently, and lets be real, picking matthyse was pretty ballsy for his first fight coming off a loss. but yah he got some gift decisions, and fighting paulie doesnt exactly excite me. i think someone along the lines of a collazo would be legit.

Picking matthysse wasn't ballsy, it was necessary. HBO made him take that fight, you think they'd let him just fight any tomato can?

Not too impressed with Alexander, but 147 is a lot leaner than 140, so he might be okay at this weight class.
