  • HBO really screwed up investing so much in Alexander & Bradley

Alexander got $1.3 Million last night. Bradley's next fight will be $1.3 Million. Plus their first fight, all of the advertising, etc.

As a result, fights like Hopkins vs Dawson will be forced to be on PPV because HBO spent most of their yearly budget already.

    Thanks HBO!

Well I think they were kinda underpaid when they fought one another, was a crappy fight, but before that it was supposed to be the biggest fight in the division. So I think this kinda evens it out.

Yes, I said this before Bradley-Alexander earlier in the year.

It made no sense to overpay them for such fight.

There's no way Hopkins-Dawson ends up on ppv.

People say that now. 8 months ago people were begging for Alexander vs Bradley and would have PISSED at HBO if they had said it was too expensive and the fight fell through.

You can never give a man the reward before the actual work.

Just look at LeBron James. That guy got all the money before he even proved he was worth that much.

Michael Jordan and Floyd Mayweather Jr had to earn their worth. And look at them summamab*tches now.

The mistake wasn't that they made the fight the mistake was guaranteeing BOTH of them such large purses after regardless of the result. Especially considering neither are very exciting

That was part of the deal to get them to fight each other. One of them was going to lose and wanted to guarantee that they wouldn't be tossed to the scrap yard after 1 loss. The second fight guaranteed the loser a chance for redemption.

And what has Lebron done since then? He has been one of the best players in the league and carried a weak Cavs team into the NBA finals. Jordan was well paid and had tons of endorsements before he ever won a title.
