haha that's what im thinking. although all along haye probably planned on trying to do this. he's going to run around and avoid as much engagement as possible. wladimir is going to win a horribly boring decision, then afterwards haye can say "he's a disgrace, and he was afraid to fight me, etc., etc." haha, you know haye's gonna do something like that.

Lennox has always been a Classy man and i agree with most of what he said. I will add that most people who seem to be picking Haye to win, are putting alot of "Ifs" in their predictions. Not sure if guys like Roach, Froch, and Lewis are really sure Haye can win, but rather are ust Rooting for David. Everyone one of them accepts the fact that the Hayemaker has to have a spectacular performance, whereas they also expect Wlad to have an off night, in order for Haye to be victorious. To me, Lennox Lewis gave an honest oppinion and is correct except for one thing... Wlad Klitschko is not Valuev. Haye will have to be 3X better to win. I still think Haye will get embarrassed like all the other loud mouths who challenged the Brothers, but i cant wait to see this fight. Definitely PPV WORTHY...but its free in the States.Comment

It's normal that Lennox supports Haye, still I don't think that Haye can win against Wlad with the same strategy he used against Valuev. Why? Well...
1. Wlad is faster than Valuev, Valuev was just slower than a freakin snail. Even though Wlad is not fast, he's still fast enough to catch Haye with his jab while Haye is moving around the ring.
2. Wlad is a better boxer than Valuev. Valuev was just a big guy with some power and a great reach, while Wlad is a boxer that maybe has the best jab in the sport and even though he's not a guy who can throw great combinations, he also has a great 1-2 offence.
3. Wlad is SMARTER than Valuev, he's a guy with a lot of education, with a great corner and he knows what are his weaknesses. As Lennox said, he has a "bad chin, stamina problems and speed problems" ... well guess what? Wlad knows it! That's why he adapted his style to diminish those weaknesses and he has become such a difficult boxer.
4. Wlad hits even harder than Valuev, if he gets Haye, then Haye is going to be in a lot of trouble
Well those are the main 4 points why the same strategy Haye used against Valuev won't actually work that well against Wladimir.
What should Haye do? Be more aggressive. Get in his range, land some fast shots and move out fast. It's easier said than done, but for me that's what he must do to win the fight.Last edited by vacon04; 06-26-2011, 05:26 PM.Comment

I think the case is slightly different, since Lennox got retired by a Klitschko and Haye is British thus Lennox "ASSessment" is a mix of grumpiness and patriotism.
Thus I don't consider Lennox generally a bad expert, but in the case of Klitschko and Haye I do.Comment

I would think that Lennox "believing" in Haye would be a bad omen, seeing as how Lennox has backed most of the people Wlad has flattened in the last few years to beat him.
Lennox doesn't sound too convinced of what he's saying, anyway. Sounds more like he's saying what he knows the UK press wants to hear.Last edited by ChopperRead; 06-26-2011, 07:14 PM.Comment
