Montiel is one of the best fighters of this generation. Fight anybody out there and has incredible power. Unfortunately, I believe he should stay as far away as possible from Donaire. Donaire is another stratosphere.

Montiel would make a hell of fight with any other 118-122 fighters not named Donaire.

Arce, he beats with with ease.

Rigondeaux, one hell of a boxing match which I believe Montiel's power gets him through the amateur star.

Shimoda/Ramos winner, beats any of the two regardless of what happens in their fight.

    Nishioka, Montiel destroys.

montiel is lucky he wasn't killed in the first fight, no need for a rematch.

With that said, I'd much rather see Montiel face Mijares at 118 or Marquez at 122, with both bouts being held in Mexico.

But scratch that.......the most exciting and best fight for Montiel right now is Darchinyan at 118. That is the best fight that can be made at 118...even better than Agbecko vs Donaire, due to all the tension between Vic and Fernando.
Vic and Montiel got beef? Any link? Dayum if they really got beef then it will make the fight even more exciting. This is one of the fight that I really want to see. Really exciting matchup. The fight will never last the distance and will end with a KO/TKO I absolutely guaran'****IN'tee that.

Nobody can **** with the Flash right now, if he's smart he'll continue his great career and stay away from further destruction.

yeah, they have had beef for several years.

It all started when Vic beat his brother Alejandro Montiel and thus lead to Vic's trash talking of Montiel.

Vic said "If Fernando had any pride he would man of up and avenge his brothers loss". He also said something along the lines of "Fernando shouldn't even look his brother and the rest of his family members in the face, knowing that he isn't man enough to face him for the sake of his families name/honor".

I have to look for a few of them but there are a bunch. It's actually pretty funny (Vic's attacks on Montiel) which is why I'm surprised they haven't fought yet.

This beef has been brewing ever since both were at 112.

I posted this in another Montiel thread, but I thought it would be worthwhile to do it again:

              Here's a clip I found of the Montiel/Cermeno fight:

The vicious hook to the liver is best seen at 6:07.

Wow if they have beef for so long im surprise they havent fought each other too. I know Vic like to talk some trash but hes right with this one. Fernando should avenge his brother loss and beat one of the greater Mexican's foe.

that sounds like a good matchup, wish that would be made.
gotta like montiel for wanting the rematch, but he'll get stopped again (not as badly) imo. the speed difference was clear in that fight, nonito is just on another level, no need to see it again. montiel has other good fights in front of him...

Montiel kos him this time around......Donaire ain't the invincible fighter some fanboys make him out to be. He's a great boxer-puncher no doubt about it but anyone could have got caught with that monster punch. Montiel got up and now he's back strong, it's not like his career ended.

Had Donaire dominated for 4-5 rounds and then koed him then I would agree that there is no need for a rematch. It was just two rounds people it could have happened to the best ho them even Donaire. Donaire has been beat by a Mexican bum already and he struggled with lesser fighters than Montiel, I'm almost certain that Montiel with the right game-plan beats Donaire this time around. Let them fight at 122
