Matthysse before the fight: I can't let it get to a decision.

"I'm not worried at all [about the judges,] because it's not going to go the distance. I've trained for a knockout, and that's what's going to happen," said Matthysse, who will meet Alexander at Family Arena, Saint Charles, Mo., before what is expected to be a crowd that favors the St. Louis, Mo., native.

"I'm not worried about a decision and I can't let it get to a decision," said Matthysse. "A knockout is what I've been working for.I don't like to predict rounds, I'm just going to go in there and do my job."

He knew that he couldn't depend on the judges to give him a decision in St. Louis. And that he had to get the knockout.

But he didn't do it. So in a way he has to accept the loss because he failed to pull off his own game plan.

Nobody should fight that bum in his hometown. It's impossible to beat him there. i think even if you knock him out somehow it would be declared a no contest.

This is what is killing boxing.

Regardless of what his game plan was, the better man lost tonight.

It was BS and you know it.

he knew he would be robbed before the fight therefore that makes the robbery ok.

If you check my sig I was actually betting on Matthysse to win.

I'm just saying that he knew what he had to do and didn't pull it off, that's all.

What you're arguing is that getting robbed is acceptable if a boxer fails to pull off their game plan?

Fighters shouldn't have to rely on a knockout to ensure victory whether it's in their game plan or not.

Mattysse knew he was up against a stacked deck and if it went on points he would lose. The fact he failed to get the KO does not make cheating right. This judges in fighter's pocket thing is really bad for boxing's credibility and is not what people want to see. people want to see straight fights with no crooked judging.

yeah, i said that as soon the fight was over i hopped on this site. he said throughout his entire camp that he couldn't and wouldn't let it go to a decision because he knew he would lose. but yeah, even if it did go to a decision, he did enough to deserve a decision imo.
