Elite fighters??? Please tell me you are not talking about Devon! I'll say it loud and clear Devon is no elite fighter...not by a long shot! Hell if Matthysse was as relentless as Maidana is he would have been out of there. Also, all Devon does is hold, hold and hold some more. Yeah, very elite. He was folding big time...too bad it was not a 12rd fight. Why is it that some of you can't see things for what they are even if your favorite loses? I would probably have been less bothered if they called a draw but to give it to Devon was a slap in the face plain and simple. But you know what...in the end it doesn't matter because Devon will not reach elite status...he is only good when he doesn't get hit. When he does start to get hit he starts to fold quickly. It's all a matter of time...you'll see.

I don't know if it's something you have to feel and know as a boxer, but watching them go back and forth with no pure quit in them was good enough for me. Sure, it wasn't Gatti-Ward, or other fights, but I like to see two talented top-level fighters in their weight-class try to win.
Same here. I enjoyed the fight, and thought it had some great back and forth action. Ultimately though, Matthysse should have won. The decision puts a very bad taste in one's mouth.

This was more clear cut than the Kotelnik fight, IMO.

Pascal is no longer the lineal light heavyweight champion. I hope the author just made a slip and meant to say Bernard Hopkins, otherwise I'm lead to believe he doesn't watch boxing.

This fight was not close. Matthysse outlanded Alexander with the much heavier shots. I had Alexander winning 2 rounds and can't see any unbiased with him winning more than 4. Matthysse was flat out robbed. The fact that one of the judges from the Kotelnik fight was scoring this one is a crime to the sport. THIS IS A TRAVESTY FOR BOXING!!!!!!

The only thing he outlasted is getting knocked out. Alexander lost this fight, there's no debate about that.

Alexander got a hometown decision . Matthysse won that fight clearly . Those judges that didn't even have it close should never be allowed to judge again . enjoy you gift Devon , Matthysse don't give up , try to fight in vegas or new jersey, you won tht fight and got robbed . damn DON KING his crooked ass should never been given a licsene. he's went to prison for murder , he can't even vote. He's robbed the hell out of very fighter he represented . This kinda crap gives the sweet science a really bad name !

I was wondering if anyone else picked that up...

alexander thinks boxing is like a game of speed tag and who ever touches the most wins. what a tap dancing grunting nothing. Boxing isn't laser tag but hitting alexander should be ashamed of himself for the win.

Jake is managing editor of boxingscene so I assume he knows a thing or two about the sport. He also knows fans will call him on any error made here so he either had a brain fart or is making sure your paying attention.
