I think alot of it with fighters now a days is they just get fat. I mean not all but alot of fighters Hatton, Morales (sorry but its true) blow up crazy. Also i u can cut down losing minimal muscle and gaining speed and endurance in the process it makes sense. I was weighing almost 200 pounds but i felt like it was forced and felt weak for a heavy. Now im a leaner 180 and have quite a size advantage over other light heavies, and i have really piced up my speed.

I am 5'11" walk around at 175 or so, but can get down to 154, and could no doubt make 147 if I had to. It would make much more sense to fight at that weight than to fight at 175, purely for strength advantage.

that weight advantage is actually very rare now as most fighters dont fight at their actual weight so technically there is no longer an advantage in terms of size. One thing they would benefit from though a lot is the decrease in weight allows them to move better faster for longer periods of times. Anybody whos ever lost at least 10 pounds then started running probably knows what im talking about.

Why don't Fighters Fight at their Natural Weight?

Because that would take away the height advantage that most of the boxers in teh lower weights rely so heavily upon...You would see a whole lot of your favorite fighters get knocked the phuck out...

If all fighters fought at their natural "in shape" weight, it wouldn't make much difference except in a few weight classes where fighters may run into opponents with lankier frames and reach and height advantages. As it is, not that many fighters enjoy much of an advantage because the majority of all fighters do it. The only reason they do it is to retain a strength advantage over their opponents, IMO they should have to weigh in on the day of the fight. Maybe after a few of these ****ers get killed or injured due to being unhealthy, this **** will stop.

you will hit harder because that weight comes back on the next day! thats why figthers put on 15 pounds on fight time! so they have an advantage.
