Dunno why, but I was wondering earlier today, 'If Tye Fields is a bum, then what are the people he beat?' Whats below a bum? Have any of you guys seen the opposition he has had, lol. He fough an old shot Barrett and Two Guns destroyed him in like 46 seconds in one of the most hilarious KOs I've ever seen.

      1. I live in the U.S.

      2. How much he makes is irrelevant to what I was asking.

      3. The Grant fight was a low-level PPV that my cable subscriber didn't even carry.

      4. He didn't have a multiple deal fight with Versus, Top Rank did and they put up his fights instead of real boxing matches.

      5. He was KOed whilst participating in the Prizefighter tournament.

      6. He is terrible, amateur experience or not.

      7. Lol, sparring chief.

        He's freakishly big bum.

And he can beat smaller bums with ease.

Tye is what's called a journeyman. On this site, you're a bum if you're not a unified champ, i guess. A Journeyman can beat any "bum" and some C-level fighters, but failed each time he's stepped up to fight world class fighters. After a few losses, these guys usually get turned into opponents; hyped fighters on their way up are matched with these guys, with the logic being that if they can beat the journeyman, they're ready to fight world class fighters. Tye recently beat Sprott in Prizefighter, and Sprott is a solid boxer.

Some similar example would be Travis Walker. Once hyped as the future of the division, he was a solid boxer, but after getting KOd by Arreola and Quedoza he got used as an opponent for Johnathan Banks, Ruslan Chagaev, and even ****ing Alex Laipai.

Walker, nor Tye, are bums. Walkers a better fighter actually, but theyre generally on the exact same level. Decent enough fighters that just weren't good enough to get to that next level.

But Tye is terrible. At least Walker knocked Arreola down.

of course top rank had the deal & he was fighting for top rank until after the barrett loss...win or lose is irrelevant to the fights & exposure he has been able to get.he was one of the main sparring partners in the past for rahman, arreola & peter.HE IS WELL CONNECTED or he wouldnt be getting these opportunities...like him or not or win or lose he has made alot more money & got alot exposure then most boxers & he hasnt beaten anyone...

Journeyman is a better term for Tye.
