I can see Manny starting to realize that Mayweather is goingto stay patient and it may be a boring exhibition but he will stick with whatever gameplan Roger and him come up with. Can Manny flood him with punches I dont think so because when he stops Mayweather will attack while Manny trying to catch his breath. Manny loves to fight but boxing is a clinical test of speed timing and defense.

Accuracy will be a key for Mayweather because Manny in the past has walked through the Jabs of other fighter to get off his punches. Manny also wants to put on a good show so he will take those crazy chances to get off to please the crowd. Mayweather could care less about the crowd he cares more about the win and looking good while doing it. Will Manny try to play the waiting game as he did with Mosley. This is an interesting fight because of all the intangibles but IF I had to pick a winner. I would go with Mayweather unless he slows down and gets caught by something big and gets scared like the past few fighters have done.
    great observation

Everybody who actually knows boxing know May will keep his distance and pot shot Manny all night. Manny wont be ready cause he hasn't fought someone with the speed as May in a long time so its going to throw him off... his defense being countered all of that will throw him off

Dudes dont realize throwing at someone and missing and not doing much damage can seriously discourage you

Mayweather defense works against Pac because it make Wifebeater stay outside the ring where Fighter of the Decade can't hit Wifebeater.

The one aspect of Floyd's defense that is severely under valued is his ability to dictate the range at which he fight at. When people point at Floyd's "adjustments" they're really pinpointing the stage of the fight when Floyd get comfortable and start landing at will without getting hit. Sometimes he seemingly lulls fighters into a trance while standing right in front of them. That's because the emphasis on body and foot placement isn't appreciated by novice fans. Peep how sometimes fighters are reduced to just one punch before a clinch due to Floyd positioning himself just out of range forcing the fighter to overextend their offense. At that moment he decreases the distance and get right in their wheel house, causing them to over shoot their mark. He also has what my childhood coach used to call three levels of head placement. While feinting, Floyd will sometimes start with his head high, then drop it to his opponents shoulder level, and sometimes closer to his waist (where he normally shoot his straight right to the belly and where Zab countered and knocked him down). All these things coupled with his diverse offensive repertoire, causes his opponent to think too much. That's why a lot of purists harp on the "sweet science" so much. Small nuances can sometimes overcome what u lack physically. How else does someone widely regarded as a soft puncher keep guys from rushing him? How does someone who throws a low number of punches reduce his opponents throw rate and fight at his pace? None of these things are coincidences. The man is skilled. He may be a prick or too concerned with maximizing his profits....but the man is a highly skilled boxer. Period.

Fraud's philly shell defense works well against orthodox fighter's because the power-side of the punch which is the right hand can easily be ducked under from the inside but it doesn't have the same effectiveness against southpaws because the power-side of the punch goes to the inside part of the defense which is the front of the face, chest and body. Especially southpaws with speed, power, conditioning, aggression and the same experience as he is like Manny. Pot-shots are good if they have good power to go with it which we know Fraud hasn't in the welterweight division and his low-punch output will not deter Manny from attacking him swiftly and constantly. Manny also has a "good chin" and a more better condition athlete than all of Fraud's past opponent's. Manny throws a lot of combos but he only needs one to demoralized him or Knock his A$$ out?! Nuuuuf Said!!!

true, early in the fight he will use a high guard and throw his jab out there. He will bring out the shell when he feels comfortable, would like to see if he could use his defense in a southpaw stance.

The straight left lines up with an orthodox's chin out of the Southpaw stance. Analysis fail.
