    But, surely, considering what thse fighters achieved is documented and alot of the time the there is atleast footage of the fighters that they beat I.e Harry Greb then we can judge their greatness?

    You certainly can in my opinion, atleast.

      oh dont get me wrong bro...although i wouldn't argue FOR their greatness, i wont argue AGAINST it either...just for the reasons i stated...greatness resonates thru time...

        maybe we should separate the different eras.

        John L. Sullivan era - Jack Johnson era - Muhammad Ali era and inbetween we have the Jack Dempsey era and the Joe Louis era and as we go down in weight, it will be a cleft Europe as there are more fighters that werent publicized like THE heavyweight champion of the world.

        to do an ATG list is like fishing for stars.
