How are you defining making more money? If HBO spends 5 mil to get 1.5 floyd ppv buys and 10 mil to get 1.2 manny ppv buys, then another 10 mil to get 1.3 ppv buys then HBO isn;t making much money. The profit is less. Its like the Mosley Pac fight. 1.3 mil ppv's is really good. But when you think about the money spent to advertise on CBS in prime time, then you know the fight wasn't as profitable because the cost of those 30 sec spots alone (not counting any other promotion) is huge.

But you can't just take Clottey out of it. Against common opponents floyd outsold Manny in every fight, headliner or B-side. These are facts that can't be changed or justified no matter how much you love Manny or hate floyd.
You are even admitting it in your post. You said Once floyd became a part time fighter. In other words, all things equal floyd sells more. Manny only sells more when floyd doesn't fight. That a non american can sell so much in the US is very impressive. But it aint the best or the most.
