man, u r only 29, u r a young puppy. u havent even lived your life, yet. believe me, i know what u r goiing thru. i never had a love like that in my life. i was lost for most of my youth until i got a job as police officer. i aint a cop any more, but, i got a pension to help support me. one thing, i learn is that there is ups and downs in life. the important thing is to stay focused and not get caught up in all the bs. i think one thing that has kept me grounded his my wife. loved ones can kept u in check because they need u to survive giving u some sort of purpose in life. hang in there. it will get better. take it from me, been there, done that

Hey bro i can't relate totally but i can empathize. I know you said you have a kid on the way too.

From my truth to you. Watch your Child be born. I would also sit a re-evaluate top top priorities. look at your goals and where you want to go and how you want to get there. post them up and look at them daily.

I've been threw some sh.it in my day but the one thing I always come back to is this set up. You also have to fuel it with belief in yourself. Your a good person, let no one tell you different. We are all good people here but we tend to think our opinions change that, they don't

Keep you head up, remember to set small goals week to week, so you feel you making the steps in the right direction. The one thing you can pull from your circumstance is you know what it takes to compete against someone, well your next match is you bro! You dictate, not your habits, not negative dialogue. It's always the most important to make the NEXT right choice and don't look back. Push on bro and remember, dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude light your path!

      God bless you!

You attempted to do what you love, and it just wasn't for you. Be proud of the fact you went out on a limb and chased after your dream, and in the end your not just a keyboard warrior judging men who have more courage then you ever even did. The fact you put your hat in the ring is more then most have had the stomach for.

Hardly a waste. Among other things, you posess a skill you can pass on to your kid. I WISH I had a boxer in my family to train me...

all good advice on here. new england is right about going to trade school to learn a particular unique skill. usually they have excellent internship programs and you will have a guaranteed job with at least a DECENT salary, but most importantly, stability, insurance, benefits, and EXPERIENCE. After 5-10 years of working for somebody, you can look into starting your own business, or you can move up, look for other higher paying jobs, etc. you will have options, and be able to provide STABILITY and SECURITY for your family.

but whatever you do, STAY with boxing. im the type who says NEVER give up on your dream, and if you want to fight professional, well there are plenty of guys who went to school full time, work full time starting off. and if you find you'd rather spend more time with family and career, then STILL be a trainer and work with the kids, and stay sharp and in shape working out. Boxing is good for the mind and soul. You would be an EXCELLENT role model for young kids in the gym.

Why are people telling him to keep boxing?? He didn't say he's upset because he didn't turn pro he's just upset because of the fact that he could of done something more useful all those years he wasted in the gym.

There is no point for him to keep boxing, what is a fight gonna do for him? It won't get him paid or benefit him in any other way.

How many boxers are there today and how many did get rich???

Forget boxing mark, most boxers end up depressed, unemployed or on this forum.

I suggest you stop drinking, smoking and start looking for a job,and if it's true that you're gonna be a father than a clean life and a job are a must.

and if you want to seriously look into starting a non-profit gym, contact greg haugen. he's a really cool guy. look him up on facebook and send him a friend request and message asking about the gym he is opening up with my dude Chris. He can help walk you through the process, and maybe give you some contacts in the las vegas area.
