I'm saving my comments next week. Next week, my demon mode will raise as I cheer for Klitschko to knockout Haye. YEA!

Yeah I think that might by a factor. Friends of mine with little interest in boxing were talking about the Fraudley fight, I've not heard much regarding the Klit fight. I'd not be surprised if they didn't want to watch boxing again after that farce.

Haye v Fraud was also the first fight Sky broadcast in 3D, so I think they had a more aggresive ad campaign to hype that.

I think the hype machine is starting to crank into gear now anyway.

Well, everyone I know seems to be pretty pumped, but at this time of year there are lots of other things that have to be covered by the mainstream media. Hatton's big fights were in spring & winter when there was much less going on. British sporting events don't really get much bigger than wimbledon, and there has just been a huge weekend for us in golf with Mcilroy destroying the field to win the US open and an England test series has also been taking place, so there's been lots going on. Sky are sure to go sick with their coverage next week though, they'll be amping this fight like a mother****er.

Don't expect this fight to dominate the back pages, though. There's just too many other things going on. Even the day of, and day after the fight it will be competing against the wimbledon finals for media coverage. If Murray makes the final that is potentially a much bigger story for Britain than anything that is likely to happen in Hamburg. A British Wimbledon winner would be huge. Even in europe, this fight coincides with the start of the tour de France , which is a very big deal in many parts of europe.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with this post, as Im in N.Ireland Rory winning the golf is pretty much all everyone has been talking about since he was in the lead after the first day. That would explain the lack of excitement/interest where i am. I never thought about that. And now quite a few people are talking about Murray's chances.

Not trolling, sorry to disappoint u, i havent heard many people mention this fight. They know about it, but arent talking about it. Im not talking about sky's promotion, im talking about the public interest of the promotion. I know sky have adverts on all over the place, i mentioned it in the OP. Everyone i know knows i like boxing, and the amount of times they've asked me about this fight i can count on one hand.

Everybody I know is talking about it. Sky wants to sell it like it's Ali-Frazier.

I dunno there are posters in every pub I've been into.

Even the Irish ones which tend to just show horse-racing and the gaelic sports. Although unless David Haye and Wlad Klit race into the ring on horses I doubt they'll be interested.

                  Anyone watching it in 3D?

The Valuev and Harrison fights definitely had more buzz around them at this stage.

However, Wimbledon and the golf have taken the spotlight away from Haye and Klitschko for a little while. Expect the buzz to build from Monday onwards.

Like people have said, there's been a lot of other things happening recently... closer to the fight the hype will huge
I find that you don't tend to hear casual fans talking about big fights until a few days before.
