Is it just me or was there 10x more buzz around for the Haye Harrison and Valeuv fights at this stage? Sky are running adverts flat out, but Im not feeling the same kinda excitement from people. There doesnt seem to be as much chat about this fight than the 2 i mentioned.

Why do u think this is, is cos there is a real probability that Haye will lose?

Whats it like where u are?

People at work are talking about it but personally, I don't think there is enough hype by Sky at all. They show the ad on a regular basis but the newspapers aren't showcasing this like a Hatton, Lewis, Calzaghe, Hamed or Eubank fight. It's disappointing really but I hope it all changes next week.

The general hope that everyone has is that they hope that Haye decapitates Wlad but it's probably 50/50 that people think he's capable of doing it.

Interestingly enough, on the Wimbledon commentary this week, John McEnroe has mentioned on a numerous times about Wlad-Haye when discussing the giant killing chances in the early rounds for tennis players. He's clearly pumped up for it.

Put yourself in the shoes of the average joe that doesn't have any invested interest or knowledge concerning the the sport. You've already listened to Haye talking himself up,promise a spectacular performance, and then you've seen him go out and put on horrible showings.Honestly, would you want to go through that again? People see through Haye's bull**** and know that he isn't the fighter that he portrays himself to be.

Haye's fight with Harrison and Valuev attracted interest for all the wrong reasons.Wlad's not a British heavyweight participating in a domestic showdown and he's not a complete freak like Valuev.

Im thinking there'll be a big push towards the end, but i was outta the country the week leading up to the Valeuv fight and i remember before i left everyone was talking about whether Haye could beat "the giant" and no-one giving him much of a chance (not realising that Valeuv is/was pure ****e. They were just looking at the size difference)

And for Harrison I think sky had put a bit more effert into it. U couldnt avoid not seeing a big promo for it every half an hour. Sky are sticking adds up for this one in pretty much every break on the sports channels, but the promotion seems to be lacking something that the Harrison fight had. I cant put my finger on it though! Maybe its Haye not being a loud mouthed prick all the time. I dunno

There was a pretty big backlash after the Harrison fight, Haye did get a lot (not as much as he should have though imo) **** after that. That could be a factor.

I think the Valuev and Harrisson fights really took some of the sheen off Haye. It'll pick up, though. I'll probably have upwards of 10 mates watching this with me, and only a couple really qualify as boxing fans.

He has been promoting himself, he was on the Alan Carr show the other week. I didn't watch it, though, because Carr annoys the shit out of me.

By end of next week people will be buzzing.

The Harrison fight did annoy people though, myself included.

I don't know about SKY TV hype, but I heard commentators on BBC during Wimbledon tennis tournament talking about the fight.

Sky are just beginning to push the fight, the advert is on almost every 30mins, but the papers haven't been doing the samething yet, nothing would top the Mayweather-Hatton fight for me over here, it was all over in the papers, Mayweather's face/story was everywhere etc but am sure this fight would be bigger towards the end of next week.
