EBU heavyweight champ Alexander Dimitrenko (31-1, 21KOs) will make a voluntary defence of the title against British veteran Michael Sprott (36-16, 17KOs). Universum will promote the fight on either August 19 or 20 with venue to be announced. Sprott returns from his split decision loss to Tye Fields in the Prizefighter tournament, and Dimitrenko is coming back after the brutal knockout of Albert Sosnowski.

I like Sprott, but at this point in his career, Dimitrenko should be looking to fight other ranked contenders. Dimitrenko-Mormeck was apparently in discussions and would be a more interesting fight.

Dimitrenko fights sprott cause he knows he can beat him!
he struggled bigtime with an limited sosonowski and i do think sprott is on the same level as sosnowski if not more dangerous cause he has a good punch!
Sprott knows this is a good chance and perhaps the last chance for him and he is coming to win! i dont think sprott will go far at this point in his career but will he give dimitrenko a good fight? hell yeah if he doesnt get caught with a big punch from dimi
