Margarito is clearly in the twilight of his career and is looking to get one or two more big paydays before he bows out. He will face Cotto and (if he loses) possibly get fed to Alvarez if TR and GBP are on good terms, both of those fights being on PPV.

Taking a dangerous fight he would likely lose for a much smaller payday is not a good business move for Marg or Top Rank. Uncle Bob knows how to squeeze his cash cows to the last drop; he knows better than to make a fight like this.

Arum only throws his guys into fights like that if the opponent is a bigger draw than his own fighter and there's money to be made. I can see Arum looking to match Vanes with Martinez, because that would be an opportunity to turn Vanes into a star. One the other hand, Bob's going to be smart and keep his star fighters (Chavez, Cotto, Margarito) as far away from Sergio as possible.

that's a lot of nonsense. boxers don't give a sh.t about their opponent's well being. show me a case where a boxer expressed concern over a boxer's life. especially when that boxer beat the crap out of him in the past.

margarito will give him a bigger pay day than the ones martinez have been fighting all these years. the obvious reason why he is not interested is because he's had a trauma fighting margs.

this is like khan not interested in avenging his loss against prescott. except that prescott is a virtual unknown. marg still has huge followers, whether fans or haters.
