    Has HBO decided?

Does anyone know if HBO has officially signed off on Martinez vs Barker?
I read on one of Dan Rafael's blogs where he said HBO had yet to ok the fight and were partial to Martinez fighing Australia's Daniel Geale. While it would be just exchanging one garbage match up for another I was hoping HBO passed on the Barker fight and suggested Pirog instead. Anybody have any info?

Daniel Geale is the best middleweight other than Martinez and Sturm. How's that a garbage fight?

You mean the same Geale that lost to Mundine, that Geale?

It wouldn't surprise me if fighting one of the other champions and winning their belt would mean that Martinez loses his shot at Chavez. You can't be mandatory for one org while being the champion of another.

This may explain why HBO are pushing for Geale, because it'll keep Chavez protected and getting good ratings with his paper title for a while longer.

Good point. That may be the case.
