I actually agree who knows how good Tarver could have been had he not blosssomed so late due to many problems most notable would probably be the Crack.

wait wait...did you not read the article by reeno? Jones HIMSELF said that he not only knew he lost the fight, but that Tarver would have been a handful for him EVEN IN HIS PRIME, while at light heavy. If Jones of all people can actually admit such a thing, it's time his fans to accept the fact that no matter how great a fighter may be, styles make fights. Ive said time and again that I thought Tarver just had a style that gave Roy fits and I'm relieved I stuck by that.
If you havent read that article try to make time okay...Roy showed alot of class in it.

Do yall seriously not understand boxing??

When people say Jones is shot they are talking about his speed and his reflexes being gone because he's older.

Tarver never relied on those two. That is why, though hes older, hes not shot.

The people who are saying "Roy is shot" are the same people who would be saying "Roy is back!" had he won the fight. You can't have it both ways.

Tarver lost a decision which was not controversial whatsoever in the first.

Caught him with a lucky shot in the second.

And, from what I've heard, beat a Jones who really wasn't into it in the third.

That does not constitute a better fighter.
thats total crap! Jones himself said that Tarver would have been a handful for him IN HIS PRIME, at light heavy! What more do you need than that? The first fight was controversial and extremely CLOSE. Damn near every boxing expert talked about that fact over and over for mo's after the fight.
As for Jones 'not being into the 3rd'...well, that might fly if he himself hadnt also said that he was pleased with his performance, but did realize he had lost the fight.
Can you try and be just a little objective?

Tarver was never as impressive as Jones was, and he never beat Hopkins, James Toney and John Ruiz, by dominating them. Or he moved up to become Heaveyweight champion..

Jones had to get off seteroids to lose weight...

That really isn't telling at all. You think Jones is gonna say he got beat by a sorry guy? No, he's gonna pump him up just like he does Toney and Hopkins.

A handful is one thing...but beating Roy? No. Not in his prime. If Roy beats Tarver weight-drained at 34, and wins 4 rounds off Tarver and makes Tarver gassed at 36...no, a prime Roy does not lose to this so-called Magic Man.

lol, man, have I said that only about a million times in the past! Jones says that Tarver would have been a handful even in his prime....thats more than good enough for me. I give Roy seriously big props for admitting that cause I never expected it. It's amazing that Jones' powerful ego can still let him admit the facts about himself and tarver, but some of his fans flat out deny the fact that, whether they like it or not, STYLES MAKE FIGHTS!!!!!! That simple rule applies to all other fighters..why not Jones too? Crazy!

Jesus, the excuses are limitless!!! I shouldnt be suprised by that...coming from Jones fans! It tells plenty, since the expected response from him was he got robbed and/or all the various reasons he didnt win (wt. loss, etc.) I cant believe that youre lettting your fondness of him totally blind you to the facts like that. It's hard to take it serious when you show absolutely NO objectivity at all.
Did you read the before mentioned article? If not, you should...maybe then you'll be able to admit what Jones and unbiased fans already have admitted.

You sound unbelivably bitter. The "so called magic man" So, what does that make Roy? The "so called unbeatable"?
