    Canelo vs Mayorga

I heard a few rumors about this after Alvarez won the title against Hatton. What do you think of this matchup? He's returning on September 17th on the Mayweather-Ortiz undercard, and that would be a good fight to make his case to challenge the winner of the main event sometime in the future.

That'd be a good scrap and the prefight would be hilarious. I'd love to watch it on the Mayweather-Ortiz undercard. I don't think it'll happen though. Mayorga has marketing power and him and Canelo can have a big event on it's own on HBO.

It will be a mental test for canelo especially before the fight with all the mayorga insults and abuses.

That's true. But then again it could also make the PPV even bigger.

mayorga is past his prime, but this would be a true test of where the ginger kid is as it relates to whether or not the kid is elite level...

Exactly. It's really more of a test than anything. If he can't beat this version of Mayorga then he certainly can't beat any of the top fighters. Plus if he completely destroys him like De La Hoya did, that would certainly make a statement. Not even Cotto or Mosley were able to do that.

This would be a good fight for Alvarez, IMO.

Mayorga is a tough night's work for anybody.
