    HBO crew...their worst night ever?

All these guys could do is ***** and moan the whole time and it nearly ruined my evening. Here we had a good, tactical fight through the first 4-5 rounds and all they could do was whine about the lack of activity. ****heads, I mean Jim was badmouthing the "club fighter" style when Vinny and Minto were on there and then these guys are fighting smart and it's bad too.

Speaking of that, I think it was really insulting how Jim got all elitist with those guys and kept using "club fighter" like it was a dirty word. I don't know, maybe the Leavander death rattled him or something. He kept calling for every fight to be stopped and seemed shocked and disgusted when it wasn't. All they could do was insult and belittle every fight and fighter they had on tonight. I'll admit it wasn't the greatest card in the world but they made it seem a lot worse with their constant whining. I mean ****, get out of the business if you don't care anymore.

Hear, hear, Bomb. Surely it's - in a sense - their job to boost the appeal of the cards they're showing, too? Even if they're crap, to bring out the good points so people will watch another?

i agree and i think that probably with bashing most of the undercard fights, even though sometimes its true, it's only admiting to the PPV paying viewers that this card might not have be worth the money. Which doesn't make sense business wise.

The problem is that the ring side anouncers are basically just fans who have watched the sport for a long time. But they dont really know it. Max Kellerman really knows his ****.

Minto and Maddalone are bums, I know from experience Minto is garbage...Neither guy possesses enough skills to make a dent and only look good against fighters like themselves. They are bar brawlers, Minto struggled with Tubbs for christs sake.....

HBO was a bit on the edgy side but did you watch the Showtime telecast? They were about the same...It was a crappy night in boxing, but yet I am smiling from ear to ear.

You had the best call, saying that Jim had the worst call, completely writing off Kid Diamond as a contender. The commentating was definitely extra bitchy tonight.

I think Showtime and HBO commentators should all be fired and replaced by boxers -- Tarver, Jones, and V. Klichko,

Vitaliy will be a terrific commentator, za best comentator off za vorld.

I don't know, I thought the worst part was at the start of the main event, when both guys were sizing each other up and they're bitching like ignorant part-time fans who just want to see guys wailing on each other.

I know Vinny and Minto are never going to do much of anything, but it was the 3rd undercard fight. Just something to keep you interested while you're getting settled in for a night of fighting. Jim acted like a preppy college-boy elitist the way he was looking down his nose on them.

He went even worse than that, calling him a sparring partner. In fact, it was "get back to being..."

That was uncalled for when the guy had given that much heart. WAY out of line.

Yeah, and I appreciate at least when guys are honest and don't make it all a commercial (like they were doing with the ESPN PPV), but as a fight fan there was something to enjoy in each one of these fights except maybe the Ward one.
