    Jones lost again to Tarver

It was not even a close fight. Tarver owns Jones number.

...How anyone believed that Jones had a chance in this one is beyond me. He was brutaly KO'd in his last two fights and offered absolutely nothing to Johnson right up until he was almost killed. I'm just glad he made it out of this fight without going to the morge. I thought this one had peril written all over it. Finally this should end a great career once and for all. If he tries a comeback after this his fans should start a revolt to keep him from doing it.

In round 11 and 12 Tarver was out of it, Jones had his chance but would not jump on Tarver.

Roy acted like he didint wanna fight, he could have taken control of the fight ANYTIME HE WANTED. When he feinted his way inside, Tarver would just ****ing freeze up! Im serious, Roy could have taken this fight, and hurt Tarver with a body shot in the 5th, but he...simply elected to do nothing on his way to a desicion loss.

Dont act like when Roy was coming in and throwing and landing effectively like it didint matter, because it did and it showed, because Tarver would backup like he was confused. But Roy was mentally not there to fight.

...Uh yeah, I didn't see this fight at all but it's obvious by all the reporting and the scoring that he got his ass kicked. So whats your point about him not being interested? Is this a viable excuse? If he could win the fight at any time then why didn't he do it?

It's funny that Jones actually thinks he will beat Tarver if he fights him again. I don't see him beating Tarver, how many chance does Jones wants. I think Jones should retire & don't make a fool out of himself.

From what I'm hearing this is a MAJOR dissapointment to any Roy Jones Jr fan including myself. Totally unacceptable clowning around when he could win the fight!!UNACCEPTABLE!

Who the **** said anything about excuses and not being intrested? If you saw the fight, which you ****in didint, you would understand that Roy was effective with the tactics i mentioned, but in Roys head, he just simply doesnt want to engage, that isnt an excuse its the truth, if you saw the fight you would understand that Roy hadnt lost much of a step and was in great shape, and when he threw, he landed effectivly when he threw power shots.

Im not being a ****in apologist for Roy, Tarver has his head and it showed, because especially in the 12th, Roy could have exploded into a KO finish even after taking Tarvers best punches in the 11th, HE JUST DIDINT WANNA ENGAGE. Read what im saying, or watch the ****in fight. You really have to see the fight to understand my comments about Tarver freezing up during his feints, it was effective, he simply elected not to land, even when he hurt him with the body shots in the 4th or 5th i cant remember.

Well, it's definitely not the prime jones that showed up. The prime jones will never show up again. He doesn't dodge punches as well as he used to, and doesn't punch in combination anymore. Most of the time he was feinting and, at the rare time when he actually threw, threw only one punch at a time. Jones probably fought better in their first encounter than in this one (same with Tarver). If Tarver wants more respect, he should move up to heavyweight and face James Toney. That would be an interesting fight.
