I prefer Showtime for most fights, gotta love Tarver on the commentary. Unless it's a big fight in which case it has to be HBO just for tradition but Larry Merchant is just too old and slow now it's annoying, Max has got better but i still am not a fan. Jim Lampley and Harold Lederman are class though and Roy is great when he's on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Larry Merchant, legend of boxing commentating, call Wladimir a "Big Beautiful Man" during his walkout in the first Peter fight?

But Merchant at least sounds like an adult, while Max comes on like a silly 14 year old girl with a crush.

Tarver is the best. He's always fair and objective, and his comments are insightful.

Kellerman is biased, and his comments are like those of fanboys.

I find Kellerman annoying as hell. I like to watch boxing with someone who can make you comfortable with the stats and the situation and not hype it up. That way its welcoming and its not over-hyped, which is what I feel Kellerman does.

He blabs on and on, filling dead air with the sound of his own annoying voice when I would rather hear him calmly try to pick people's brains.

Props to him for asking questions but I just hate his attitude and style.

Kellerman's jitteriness and inability to relax on camera is what keep Larry Merchant in work.

I like Max. Because unlike racist ass Larry Merchant, if there were no HBO he would have the same enthusiasm for the sport from the basement of his house or anywhere somebody would listen. My problem with Merchant is that he thinks he's deep but just comes across as an old fella that falls asleep at mid-sentence. Merchant is much worse.

I like Max, I think he's a smart guy with an obvious love for boxing. He does come across as a little high strung, but it's a nice change from Larry, who sounds like he's in slow motion.
