That's what I'm saying. If he wins and gets thrown in there with someone like Angulo or Pacquiao he could really get hurt way too early in his career. The kid is young.

Alvarez intentionally didn't make the weight, I'm sure it was his teams plan. He can make 147; they were originally wanting to match him with Senchenko for his 147 title, but since Senchenko wanted too much money they grabbed Mathat.

I would rather him win and continue to grow as a fighter rather than get beaten to please haters.

I think it's great that he's fighting Rhodes at only 20 years old, because if he wins which I think he will, it will just show how great he can become. Rhodes is ranked #4 by the JMW.

If Canelo manages to win, this will just be a teaser or a trailer compared to what Canelo is capable of doing. I think he has pretty good boxing skills, gets hit too much, but has good boxing skills.

I didn't like him disrespecting JMM and I didn't like how he won the vacant WBC title against a guy who was not even ranked in the top 20 at JMW. But all of that can be forgiven with a win over Rhodes.

And Paul, Alvarez can not make 147. He already looks shredded at 154, I doubt he can comfortably get back down to 147.

I think he outboxes Angulo similar to how Cintron did.

Don't forget before the Jorge Julio knock out, Julio was actually boxing very well. He was moving around and boxing, and Angulo basically made him look like a better boxer than he is. Then I guess because of his conditioning, Julio seemed to get tired and was no loner really boxing just running and was caught with a perfect shot from Angulo. I think Alvarez is a better boxer than Julio and has better conditioning and can go 12 rounds without tiring.

            ^^
Agree and with Paul too, 20 is really young. He still has 4-5 years to finish developing into a mans body. But I do believe he cannot keep beating tin cans he is in a difficult predicament.

I agree with everything you're saying here; Canelo HAS the skills. The kid is a prodigy and has pound for pound in his future. I just really disagree with the way Golden Boy has been moving him. He's supposed to go from fighting light-welterweight journeymen and an insanely shot Baldomir to fighting the best Junior Middleweights in the world? All the tough fighters at 154-160 are going to be swarming around him, calling him out, and he's going to acquire loads of haters and bad articles from the media if he goes the Chavez Jr route and flat out avoids the tough fights. He's much, much better than that and doesn't need all that **** so early in his career.

He's easy to hit and got rocked by Jose Cotto; They should have kept him fighting in Mexico and on undercards for another year or two. He's going to be one of the best fighters of his generation if his handlers do their jobs.

I think it's ****ed up the Golden Boy has rushed him along to huge fights in California, simply because they're running low on superstars and want to start cashing this kid in.
