James DeGale has rejected calls to sack trainer Jim McDonnell but accepts he may be forced into a rethink should he lose again.

DeGale has the talent and potential to be something special but he needs a better trainer and some honest people around him.

Its a bit of a silly attitude to wait till you "lose again" to change trainers. I thought he beat Groves but I think with a more astute trainer, he would've been able to adjust quicker in the fight and would have destroyed Groves

He needs a new trainer.
McDonnell just isn't that good.

McDonnell is good for fitness but DeGale is a finese fighter.

DeGale is a good athlete, but he has a lot to work on. A change might be what he needs.

Exactly.
He needs a trainer who can contruct a better gameplan and give him instructions from the corner.
Against Groves he could have made a much easier night.
I did feel Degale won also but he gave it away with his poor gameplan and tactics.

But I thought James "won" the fight? If he "won", then it's the judges who got it wrong not Jim Mc.
Yes, he should have had a plan B, and a plan C but DeGay was too **** sure of Grovesy's person that he felt he didn't need a plan B.
I hope they meet again in a few years time.

fair play to him, to sticking by his man and not passing the buck.
I don't like McDonnell though. He seems like the type of man who wears tracksuit bottoms to the pub on a Friday Night.
