of course he's frighten to face Martinez, just look a the final presser with Zbik. Sergio is there and I think Chavez looked like he was about to piss himself. Chavez sr face was priceless, I think he is more willing to fight Martinez than Junior.

Chavez is a joke and he's a shame to real Mexican boxers who are warriors, not little putitas.

Rubio would destroy Chavez and end his career. Chavez would have a chance against Cotto only because he'd be 25lb heavier than Cotto but even then Cotto would box circles around his a$$.

Chavez needs to fight Sugar Shane at 160, that's more in his league. maybe Arum should call up a 60 year old Marvin Hagler, ya know put some names under Chavez's belt.

The 25-year-old Mexican star approached his promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, and discussed his urge to fight the best out there - including Marco Antonio Rubio, Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez. There are negotiations for Chavez to face Peter Manfredo Jr. in September and then a possible fight with Cotto in the first half of 2012.

Chavez Jr. thinks that he is better than he actually is. This fight with Peter will really push him and there is a chance that he will not walk away with the belt. Right now Peter is hungry and is going to give Chavez Jr. a lot of opposition. I can appreciate Chavez Jr. stepping up his game, I think it is great; however, I think it is foolish to jump into a whole new league. Cotto and Martinez are names he should keep out of his mouth for now, or at least do what Canelo does, and keep saying, "In one year, I will be ready".
