Deontay Wilder, an American Heavyweight Champion in the making!!.

Deontay Wilder could very well be the future of the heavy weight division. He's young, Tall, 6'8 and strong . He was on the 2008 USA olmpic team. His team is bringing him along slowly keeping him in the dark, gaining experince learning the sweet science. I've heard that hes becoming a real force and has scary 1 punch ko power in both hands. His right hand and Jab is best weapons. He is from Alabama. Lets show our support for Deontay by researching him.

Wilder needs to learn the basics first, then go and start training with Manny Stewart. He can teach him to use his reach properly.

Wilder has a ton of potential, but his late start to boxing means Golden Boy is going to move him very slow. But still this kid is only 25 and there's really no need to rush him at the moment.

Hey DOG, u dead on with that statement. I agree, he needs M. stewart to train him, or the Mayweathers, Floyd sr. would do excellent with him aswell. He's a master at teaching fighters how to use the jab. At the age of 25 Deontay has a decent amount of time to develop. Lennox lewis didn't mature until very late in his career. Heavy weights mature much slower than other weight classes. This kid has alot going for him.

I know Wilder is 6'8" but isnt he like 220lb? that makes me worry about his punch resistance, he could fight a David Price or a Tyson Fury perhaps to see where he's at

There's nothing about this guy that impresses me as of yet. Just desperate & wishful thinking on the part of TS. He won a medal in the Olympics and has been pro for almost 3 years now and still hasn't fought at the very least a D level heavyweight who was ranked in the top 100. I mean what is he waiting for? There's nothing "young" about 25. And we're talking about quite possibly the worst division in boxing here he's fighting in. I'll reserve judgement on this d00d until i see him thrown in there with a quality opponent. His quality of opposition thus far has been a joke.

He uses the jab, has fast hands with power, and he is young for a HW regardless of what your unknowledgeable opinion is. He's fighting Damon Reed next which is a decent step up compared to what he has been fighting. Give him time. He has all the tools. Need to see that chin get checked though.
