I'm saying(and been saying)Berto is overrated(and I don't throw that word around to often)and was beating by a good fighter..I think Ortiz was a good prospect who many(myself included)thought would get better..But the things I seen him doing three yrs ago he is still doing now..Not a good sign imo..Ortiz is a good fighter but anyone who can box and take a punch can beat him imo..Nah, Ortiz has always been well-skilled, and was extremely highly-touted when he first turned pro. He just doesnt use a consistant jab, and he neglects defense when he is working his way in or putting together combinations.
Probably two of the most common faults in boxing.
Berto was on Pacquiao's short-list of 3 for the Mosley date. Berto was the best option, certainly better than old man Mosley and the lightweight Marquez.
Are you saying that the most qualified guy to fight Pacquiao just got beaten by a guy with no skill who had just come up from 140?
As for the Manny sweepstakes we all know Berto picked Ortiz because he thought he smelled Puzzy, not because he was some kinda great fighter..Like I said bro no real skill to really speak of..Ortiz bull rushes run's into shots, uses no head movement backs straight back..I understand you think Ortiz May is a good fight but dude ya not gonna be able to sell me on Ortiz being skilled bro..Good fighter yes, skilled fighter I don't know bout that..Comment

No, I completely disagree.I'm saying(and been saying)Berto is overrated(and I don't throw that word around to often)and was beating by a good fighter..I think Ortiz was a good prospect who many(myself included)thought would get better..But the things I seen him doing three yrs ago he is still doing now..Not a good sign imo..Ortiz is a good fighter but anyone who can box and take a punch can beat him imo..

You are seriously under-rating Ortiz.
I cant believe that people look back to old fights when making comparisions.
Clearly Ortiz is no longer the green kid that fought Maidana, and he is a much better fighter at welter, his natural weight.
The description in your second paragraph describes somebody like Maidana or Margarito, but definitely not Ortiz. Vic is a skilled boxer/puncher.
Ortiz is clearly the third best welter on the planet, and I doubt that anyone under 154 could beat him other than Pac or May, not Bradley, not Khan, not Cintron, etc, etc.
Please name all of these fighters who "can box and take a punch" and "can beat him"..... because I think that only Pac and May could beat Ortiz. I got Vic giving Floyd problems, and giving Manny fits.
I dont think that Manny would ever have taken that fight.Comment

Berto, was ready..... Ortiz, beat Berto..... but Ortiz, is not ready
That is straight from Bob Arum's handbook of boxing

This is the reason you are overrating Ortiz to make him look like a more creditable opponent for May when in all realness he is not a good opponent for May at all..Peterson(who was dominated by Bradley I might add)fought to a draw with Ortiz(an upon watching it back I had Peterson by a point)..Now skill is skill he could do nothing once Peterson started to land the counter..IMO Ortiz would have trouble with Khan Peterson(Peterson beats him in a rematch imo)Bradley makes Ortiz look foolish imo,Mike Jones outclasses Ortiz..Cintron destroys Ortiz..Dude you was bugging with the names you were throwing out there..I think those same people beat Berto as well..Who did Ortiz beat and how did he beat umm to make you believe he is this skilled boxer??No, I completely disagree.

I will say Ortiz is a good fighter, but he has shown no growth and has been boxing long enough that I should see improvement sadly enough there is none..I said the same thing with Devon I see nothing different from fight to fight..The only thing different about Ortiz in his fight with Berto then his fight with Maidana was his body..Not skill wise bro more physical then anything was the difference..But his skill level remained the same, and like I said when he fights someone who won't be stationary he will have trouble once again..Comment

At 147, Ortiz murks Peterson, Maidana, and anyone not named Pac or Floyd.
Including my boy Bradley, who would struggle with Ortiz' explosive counters.
I wish Vic was fighting Manny next, that is my only regret.Comment

We are welcome to are own opinions, but here are some facts..Fact Ortiz is still really unproven(as was Berto)at WW..And was a nobody at Jr WW..Long story short you are overrating(once again I don't throw the word around)Ortiz dude..I stopped reading at Mike Jones romey, that is reaching.

Lol, actually. Let's see that fight. Bradley-Pacquiao.
At first glance I would think Pacquiao would own him. Now that I really think about it. Let it happen. Pacquiao is gonna get hugged and head-butted all night long.
Interesting fight when you think of it that way.Comment
