Fair call, we will agree to disagree.

According to Arum and Pacquiao, Berto was ready. He was the best of the three opponents presented to Manny before the Mosley fight.

Yes, Berto (who was ranked higher than Shane) was a better option than Mosley or Marquez, it was clearly obvious that Shane was shot, and JMM is a lightweight..... so it baffles me that Berto's conqueror is still too "green"

That actually sounds like typical Bob Arum bull**** to me.

Ortiz is clearly the third best welter on the planet.

Imho, Manny ducked the #3 welter when he made that statement.

You and I are miles apart on this, because if we weren't, you would never have mentioned Jones or Karass. When we discussed this earlier, you suggested that Ortiz should "prove himself" by fighting Jones or Karass, and I insisted that he should be looking at NOBODY other than Manny and Floyd..... well, I am glad that he listened to me, because he just landed a Mayweather fight.

Here is a suggestion as to maybe why we differ so greatly on this one.

IMHO, the most significant change, or adjustment, that you could possibly make as a fighter..... would be to campaign in the correct division. There is simply no other "adjustment" that could be as beneficial. Look at Amir Khan for instance.

So, I temper that when assessing Victor's resume/pedigree at 140.

Any assessment made whilst Ortiz was campaigning at 140, must include the fact that he was killing himself to make weight, and has been for years.

Now you may disagree with this, but for every single comment you made regarding fights that Vic had whilst at 140, I can honestly and accurately reply..... you mean the drained kid, the one who was killing himself to make weight, the one who did not have the same stamina, conditioning, punch-resistance, and therefore confidence, that he now possesses at welter.

I dont think you have factored in confidence and self-belief either. Bro, a fighter who truly believes in himself and is right on top of his game can be a very dangerous beast indeed, regardless as to their "official" ranking. If you look back throughout history, those are the guys who shocked the world.

I think a comparison with a cabbage green Mike Jones is absurd, and I doubt that Bradley could make much of an impact on Ortiz at 147, and I also doubt that he could take his punch. Remember Abregu? coz Ortiz aint Abregu.
