1.4 mill+. Floyd coming back after a year and a half to fight a mexican on Mexican Independents day. I bet Floyd and Victor are gonna be arguing over twitter for the world to see. 24/7 and face off are gonna be the best ones yet. The build-up to this fight is going to be tremendous I don't know why anyone would think different. There will be alot of people tuning into to see Floyd fight a southpaw and see if he has what it takes to handle pac.

People know Ortiz, he's not a complete nobody, that Berto fight helped A LOT too. He's gotten air time on regular ESPN and Deportes (Interviews)...He's not a ppv draw technically, but who is other than Pacquiao and Mayweather...that's it. He's a name and the added attention to Mayweather's "return" to the ring helps. And lastly, it's Mayweather, when has he not sold a million atleast?

And don't forget Mayweather is fighting a MEXICAN, like the day after Mexican Independence Day...fitting? yeah just a little.

Also think about the 24/7 footage. the idea that Ortiz lost, and has rejuvenated his career after more or less quitting (or the ref stopping the fight, not sure which one will be played into the show). HBO will also play out Ortiz's life, people love new faces, Ortiz is a new face....he's a new story, we've heard Mayweather's story already, it's about Ortiz's life and Mayweather's "desire to return to the ring." I don't see how this formula doesn't work...

I think it will do between 1.1m and 1.3m. Ortiz has low name value, but he has his selling points which can be capitalised on; namely his age, his last win, his 'vicious' style and his charisma.

You guys are not thinking logically at all

Floyd came back from an even longer 'vacation'/retirement in '09 to face a Mexican with MUCH higher name value amidst the initial Pac-Floyd hype and did 1 mil buys, which was a lot more than most people expected. Then again, that fight was allowed a lot more time to build up since Floyd claimed he hurt his ribs and it was delayed.

No way in hell this even comes remotely close to 1.4, might not even break 1 mil. Please, someone explain to me how Ortiz will garner more buys than either Marquez or Hatton, 2 guys with big fan bases and high name value? Are all those buys coming from Kansas?

              Time to get realistic.

Mosley's not a big name, May and Pac both carried their respective fights with him. Mayweather draws 1 million easy on his own, just look at the Marquez fight. Marquez is a great mexican fighter but he's not ppv material. Ortiz will do just as good if not better then May/Marquez did.
