Its all subjective opinion, who knows how the greats would stack up against him, remember back in the day fighters drank they smoked, they did not take care of themselves like guys today do,and somehow they fought 15 rds fights truly remarkable.

Hopkins is not a top 5 ATG MW. Yes there is a case that can be made in him being out of the top 10 as far as ATG MW's go. But, I have him in my top 10 ATG MW.

He's for sure in the top 50 ATG. However, he's no way in the top 30 ATG. Just no...

Correct, back then every fighter was a chain-smoking alcoholic

If you take what BH did as a young dude, youd have to say it didnt stand out, out of the ordinary. That is backed up by the fact he was criticised for fighting blown up middleweights etc.

But take who he has beaten as a veteran and he gets bonus points for doing it when considered old. So its hard to gauge him. Because SRL did f all when he got a little older, so does he get downgraded? As soon as SRL reflexes went, his abilities as a fighter went. So are we saying SRL didnt master boxing and only relied on his speed and had no defence?
So basically SRL is an earlier version of RJJ?

Being better and being greater are 2 different things.

Being better and as who would win in a H2H match up you look at skills, styles, etc.

But, being greater you look at resume and accomplishments.
