well yea...of course MMA will also find their own fans...and quite frankly, i dont mind them not seeing the beauty that's hidden within boxing's violence

most MMA fans dont even really understand their own sport...i've been to MMA parties where its just nothing but knuckle dragging mouth breathers that dont know the difference between an armbar or a RNC...and here i am, the boxing fan, explaining to them these moves

but that's not to say boxing doesn't have its fair share of *****s...take NSB for example

of the 300 people online right now, maybe only 50-60 really know what they're talking about...the rest are just as bad as those MMA fans

Just like any other sport there are degrees of fandom. You got boxing purists and guys who know and love the sport and on the other side of the spectrum you got fans who just support their one favorite (*******s et al.). But I think the numbers and quantity (of fans) are what matters to the popularity of the sport. Numbers drive the tv ratings, ppv buys, the live gate attendance (even though casual fans probably don't attend too many live events), etc..

no arguments here...those are factual points...i was merely mentioning the 'quality' of those types of fans

i follow other sports ie. basketball, football and a little bit of hockey...i've been on numerous sports forums and have interacted with many types of fans and it saddens me to say this but, the IQ level drops when i go on a boxing forum

when you go on a lets say, a basketball site, its flip flops bro...the number of trolls in NSB = the number of smart posters on another board...it weird...you'll maybe find 3-4 trolls in those forums where as, you find triple that number on a boxing site

this sport, with its violence and bravado, attracts some of the dregs of society

That is not the fans job...Promoters and Networks need to do a better job! The sucks at building up YOUNG BOXING STARS, they are all just busy riding the Pacquiao and/or Mayweather Money Train...but what happens when those trains stop and Retire? I still don't see that Superstar on the Rise...I guess they are trying to build up Canelo and Chavez Jr but I have questions about those guys IN THE RING...to be honest neither is all that impressive and they are both very beatable...but they are still young so they can and will improve

But the Promoters need to come together and do some type of BIG EVENT for the Fans, also trying to get back to Network TV would really Help Boxing Revive Boxing and bring more fans...but that probably won't happen because these Promoters are TOO GREEDY
