After Vargas? You mean Tito beat Vargas and eluded Winky to go fight Hopkins in an attempt to getting a fight with Roy Jones, who was looking unbeatable at the time? ReallY?

No, I’m saying there was a high risk low reward that would have jeopardized Tito going to Middle weight spoiling any run at 160.

The plan was (at the time) Tito was “supposed” to beat Hopkins and then a showdown with Roy. Well, we know what happened there respectively.

People focus more on hype than reality.

Winky fought in a weak era of the JMW/MW division. They weren't that many "elite" fighters. He fought 3 elite fighters, and the rest who were elite around his weight-class he turned down.

But, he didn't elude Winky. Matter of fact at the time the better fight would probably have been Harry Simon. Anyways, if Tito ever eluded Winky, he could have eluded Winky when he cameback. Tito was a star, in a comeback, he didn't have to fight Winky. He could have fought someone else and do OK. But, he went on and fought Winky when in reality he didn't have to.

Tito never eluded Winky at all.

Don King wanted NO PART of it, he looked unbeatable against a man who slugged with (Vargas) Tito we all know those who stand in front of Trinidad the majority of the time went down. The probability of Winky causing a spoiler was high no matter how underrated so many people thought Wright is/was.

Don King may be a crook but the man isn’t ******!

Why the *** would he turn down Oscar? The man made some bad career choices.

Where are you getting that they wanted no part of Winky? Are you assuming this?

Wasn't he still the same spoiler when Tito fought him in his comeback? What was different? What on their mindset changed?
