I disagree. I would like to see things as they were many years ago, when there was one world champion for each weight. Multiple belts were fabricated for business purposes. From a fan's perspective, they're meaningless. There aren't too many other disciplines where this little game exists. In the real world, there's the champ and then there's everybody else.

I'm glad you brought this up. It's just another illustration of what a farce this whole WBA belt issue is. I consider Yuri the man to beat at 126. Yet, Chris John is the rightful WBA champion. Until Gamboa beats John, there's no way he should be considered WBA featherweight champ. It's utter nonsense.

Yeah right now he is the man to beat at 126 even if he never should have had the WBA strap, he doesn't need it though.

Actually, he does. If you read every book in a college curriculum but never set foot inside a university or completed an online course, could you call yourself a college graduate? lol

Well no but the graduate doesn't make the degree like the champion makes the title.

Anyone who really knows boxing knows he is the guy to beat right now.

I read an article on the miami herald and gaqmboas manager said that they are very confused by the whole situation but gamboa is the one with the money and hbo backing him so he is not worried, he also said that in one or 2 fights he should have the belt back because they are still waiting to hear back from chris john for a scrap later on this year

Thanks for the info, man. If it comes to pass, a fight with Chris John would possibly now surpass a meeting with Juan Manuel Lopez (for me). They just can't let Yuri's career stall; he's too old to be wasting time. (Same with Rigondeaux.)
