Ortiz messed that up. Other than Pacquiao, he's probably the top guy at welterweight. So once again, Floyd is fighting the number two man, rather than The Man.

Ortiz gives Floyd a good fight. Hopefully knocks him down a couple times. He'll lose, Floyd will look good, and then take another year or so off.

I would be saying the same thing about Berto. No one is good enough except Pac. Period.

I'm beginning to find it very irritating when folks claim Ortiz is too green/bum/tune up etc. Really? A bum? He just moved up in weight to beat and dismantle Berto within his first fight at 147 and he looked better than ever. Think about it..Ortiz was always too big for 140...just making weight was uncomfortable for him, but i believe he found his new home. He hits harder, moves around with more stamina and can take a decent punch. Floyd is strong but not strong enough knock Ortiz out. Ortiz has boxing skills also which would make this match into an interesting war depending on Mayweather's main choice of weapon for the night...if he chooses to coast safely with his beautiful defense or risk more and unleash on Ortiz for 12 rounds.

Another thin...**** enough with calling Floyd a pu55y for not fighting Pac. Honestly how ignorant can people be? You accept Pac taking on Shane, Margarito and Clottey but spit on Floyd for picking a young athlete? How the **** can you expect FLoyd to come off a 16 month fake ass vacation and hop in a ring with Pacman???? Pacman would have the advantage on so many levels(minus the in ring I.Q.). Let him get his tune up first...than he can choose whether to fight Martinez or Pac. Some of you are so fckng lame it's pathetic..."omg that blows...Floyd is a chicken ducking Pacquiao...man picking on a green Otiz,etc..." Bull **** people! Y'all talking sht are the same people claiming Ortiz would be a great match for Pac and Mayweather. Also...Pac only fights once every6 God damn months and he has a match for November..which means if Floyd waited for him he would have to fight during 2012's first quarter most likely...that would make it almost 2 years out of the ring for Floyd...is that what you dumb asses want? If Pac were to beat him it wouldnt be as credible as it can be now...think about it pinches idiotas.

Haymon would never let 2 of his fighters fight. Wifebeater/Berto is a pipe dream

Ortiz beating up berto was an action packed fight, but Ortiz was on the ground multiple times and hurt and wobbled many times versus berto. Against wifebeater he has no chance to win. He might get put on the floor again, but I do expect him to make it 12 rounds.

Ortiz isnt a pushover at all. Physically he CAN do alot of things. Physically he CAN knock Mayweather out. Except the problem here is MAYWEATHER. Skill wise, Mayweather could beat this guy just counterpunching. Speedwise he will be able to get to Ortiz and flee before Ortiz can produce a proper reply.
Its gonna be harder for Ortiz to land then it was for Shane, because Shane is the quicker of the two.

I believe this fight will look simialar to the Baldomir and Gatti fight. Mayweather slipping counter punching pot shottin and fleeing. UD or maybe a Towel gets thrown in.
