Intense, untiring pressure to the body with intermittant uppercuts when the opportunity allows.

You need a solid jab, speed and power in both hands, a prime DLH might have given him a lot of problems.

I actually had him winning only 3 rounds too...2,6 and 8

But.. Rds. 4,7,9,11, and 12 had moments where judges could screw the score up based on ineffective aggressiveness and crowd excitement to throw them off a bit.Similar to the way ODLH beat Pernell. We all know he didn't really win, but he got the W. The style DLH came in with was perfect and if he would've kept the pressure up he could've gotten a B.S decision kinda like taylor hopkins I. There aren't many fighters out there that can conquer floyd's style. What im trying to say is, we both know judges aren't the most competent officials... but in a 12 rd. fight the outcome is in their hands. They don't get to look at the compu-box between rds... so if you can deceive the judges like oscar did to get a SD... then you can damn sure do it to sway in ur favor, don't you agree?

Add accuracy and youth and you got

so why some of you saying this is a tune fight?
By saying "around Floyds weight class" it would have to be from 147 up to as high as he could handle, I'm saying 147 or 154. Floyd cannot make 140 anymore, thats why he blew off the 144 limit in the Marquez fight, and looked at least as big as SSM in their fight, I would say around 160 on fight night. As much as I would like to see him fight Tim Bradley, Bradley would have to move up in weight. I think the fighters with the best chance to take Floyd's 0 is Paquiao at 147 or Martinez at 154. Martinez would likely outweigh Floyd by six to eight pounds on fight night, not a big deal. I definitely give Floyd the advantage in handspeed and defence, give Martinez the advantage in power, offence, the ability to take a punch, and I would call this fight a toss up. I have trashed Floyd plenty on this forum, but I do give him props for fighting a young man like Ortiz, and if he would ever step in the ring with Paq or Martinez, I would respect Floyd for it, win or lose.

ODLH was on the fast track to beat him until he abandoned the jab. He did better than castillo IMO.. i've watched the castillo fight over and over and don't see how anyone would have him winning unless they really want floyd to lose.

Mayweather MADE OSCAR PUT AWAY HIS JAB...WITH THIS PUNCH:

so while I think a consistent Jab can HELP, Mayweather does have ways to counter even your jab if he has to, you feel a few of those body punches, that will make you change your entire game plan and it will make you afraid to throw certain punches...BODY SHOTS ARE THE ***IN WORSE! Especially when someone hit you in that same spot OVER AND OVER...UGH!
