You dudes are forgetting Ortiz had a draw with Peterson who isn't that good to begin with not too long ago.
    I thought Ortiz beat Peterson.

Sorry, but I would favor Ortiz over Margarito at this point. Too risky to bet on Margarito against anybody right now, not only southpaws. But being a southpaw makes his chances worse.

He fought 12 with a journeyman.

I thought he beat him barely as well. Doesn't change the fact that people thought Peterson should of gotten the nod.

Ortiz is a southpaw who is a slugger. One thing you are forgetting is that Ortiz is a weak minded dude. After 2 rounds with Margarito, Ortiz will be thinking "oh fuck" and start to think about quitting again. Margarito and Berto are two completely different fighters.

Before you label me as a hater, just know I give Floyd props for fighting Ortiz but thinking Ortiz beats Margarito even at this point is just ridiculous.

You guys are so short sighted , you blur a fighters worst performances with another ones best , depending on your agenda , every body picking Margo is thinking prime Margo and looking at Ortiz Maidana , look at both in their last fights and Ortiz takes Margo out better than Mosley did , Margo is a walking punching bag and Ortiz is on the rise and looked very solid at WW , it matters in the now .

***in Nate Cambell had Ortiz fighting off his back foot recently and the poor mans version of Margarito Maidana made him question his choice of career. I dont how anyone could think based off the Berto fight that Ortiz is ready to deal with a big pressure/stamina fighter who would eat his shots and laugh at him all night.

Martinez vs Ortiz would be a great fight to watch, but a late stoppage for Marg.

Cotto, out boxed him, could stop him but more likely it will go to the cards with Cotto winning by about 8 rounds.

Pacquiao would destroy Ortiz, he will come out brave, taste the power and could take a lot of heavy shot, hopefully the ref would save him, stopped in 6.

It would be a great fight especially now with Vics confidence sky high but the bigger stronger Margarito would not stop coming and crush Vics will in a fight similar to Cotto vs Margs.

You make a good point but I'm gonna flip it around on you and say people sometimes put TOO much stock into a fighter's last performance and ignore their entire body of work. Look at Margs' resume before Pac and Ortiz's before Berto. His experience up to now is a big question mark if you ask me.

Still sticking to my 50/50 tossup for this fight. The Margs who fought Pac would eat up Ortiz's shots and continue plodding forward. With Ortiz's defense deficiency, Margs WOULD get some shots in.

We can only judge Margarito based on his last 3 fights, because those are the only fights where we know he was fighting with LEGAL wraps.
