Such a shame as, in his prime, he was virtually ignored.
Thing is, Ortiz isn't at the elite level. At least Margo can say he fought and beat some of the very best his weight class had to offer. Ortiz can claim dominance over.. Berto? If it happened today, Margarito-Ortiz is 50/50 as far as I'm concerned.

I think he had trouble making weight against mosley plus the hand wrap situation, I have never put to much stock in that fight for either cheato or mosley. Against pac he looked like a monster but just got out classed. To bad pac broke his face, we might never find out. If its at 154 or even a catch weight close to that, it would be one hell of a fight. If u make me pic id say tony, but that's only if he comes in at 100%.

Not the version Manny fought and not under the same CW conditions , hey kid a name dont mean that your at the best that the name represents every fight , they all have a peak that has a useby date , Manny fought them when they were done or close to it with lots of conditions that handicapped them , only a fool fanboy would ignore that .

Ortiz is peaking and coming of is biggest win , its a very good mental state for him to be in .

I believe the last 3 southpaws Margarito fought, he lost to.

          Santos
          Williams
          Pacquiao

I don't think he's very good against Southpaws.

I would like to see this fight purely to watch Margarito get beat to a pulp once again.

Gotta like Margarito but can understand thinking it over first. Ortiz can't stand his ground consistently enough to stop him, though.

I don't think Daniel Santos was elite either.

Santos was being beaten up when it was stopped on the cut. Margarito was firmly in control and would have won the remainder of the fight easily.

He didn't really lose to Santos, Santos got the hometown decision on a cut. The Williams fight was pretty close as well even if he lost, it wasn't a shut out. The only shut out was against Pac and Ortiz isn't anywhere near as Pac.

You dudes are forgetting Ortiz had a draw with Peterson who isn't that good to begin with not too long ago.

Margarito is 0-3 against his last 3 southpaws.
Sure Margarito beat a 16-0 Sergio Martinez which is a southpaw, but his last 3 southpaws he's faced, he lost to.

I don't think Marcos Maidana or Lamont Peterson was elite either. We can do this all day. Is that the best you can come up with?
