I'd sooner believe he's using him to prep for Martinez. At this point I don't see the Pacquiao bout happening.

Couldn't care less which of the two he fights should he beat Ortiz. All I'm saying is I wouldn't doubt that he goes after Martinez after this fight (who is also better than Pacquiao).

Pacquiao isn't a threat to Mayweather. Did you watch his last fight?

Dude...Do me a favor and stop posting ****. You make absolutely no sense at all and your posts give a bad name to boxing fans that appreciate Manny Pacquiao

Could be, that would be priceless though and I never like to get my hopes up in regard to boxing.

Low expectations! Then when something good happens it is great, much better than constantly being let down!

Agree'd. I'd LOVE to see the fight. But some ridiculously ****** demand is gonna pop up or some dumbass fight is gonna show and that'd be that. This is one of the things I hate most about boxing...most of the great fights never seem to happen when they should, and when they do happen, what could have been, would be gone =/

This fight was not a tune up. It goes along with his progression of choices of opponents. He likes to go after these guys that are coming of big wins. I think he enjoys the challenge.

Exactly what I was thinking. Why would you NOT want to have a tough test against someone as strong and talented (not to mention southpaw) as Ortiz, in order to prepare for the biggest fight? IF (and I'm not saying he won't) Floyd couldn't get past Victor, he sure in the hell wouldn't get past Pac. Shaeffers comments are backwards as hell IMO.

It would cripple Pac's resume in relation to Mayweather's.

The issue about who has the better resume, and who faces the better opponents, would not even be debatable.
