To be honest as a man I believe Hopkins is one of the biggest role models in my life, to be in prison 5 years and do what he has done. All the discipline he does how strong minded he is... He is one of my biggest role models.......

stop begging for fights with the superstars who are not in your current weight. besides, everybody knows you just want those fights for a bigger payday. if they give you that opportunity well and good...if not don't force the issue. just defend your title and take on the biggest challenges in your weight. fans will eventually start supporting you. don't rush things just because you're already 35 years old. you started late in your boxing career (24 years old i think) so don't expect too much.

promotors need to invest in a fighter to make him into a real star


lou dibella and gary shaw receive this criticism all the time
they don't invest in fighters on the level of GBP and more appropriately top rank

part of it comes from the TR bank roll
but the other part i the philosophy of promoting

shaw makes his money by running a small ship that turns out good fighters who are able to eventually fight for world titles and make decent money
he keeps his expenses low


TR creates stars
they spend money and promote guys

so does GPB when they get behind a guy



dibella and shaw couldn't put on a PPV if their lives depended on it

There is nothing he can do right now,he's the Dominique Wilkins of boxing.He will always be in the shadows of Pacman & Floyd until they're gone.Anyone that imerges as a legitamite threat to those 2 will be hung out to dry.Martinez is simply boxings matyre.

One thing you guys didn't mention is
He needs to learn and speak english.

Cotto and Pac both learned and both make a sincere effort to speak it. I applaud them for that too, they did it because they are serious about their careers and gaining crossover appeal.

Their stocks have both risen after they started this. Sergio's would too.
