This would be the best time for Ortiz to take on Mayweather, with the lay off and all. When Ortiz is ready it may be too late. Mayweather fight only rolls around once, now a days. I don't know if Ortiz will ever be ready, I think Berto would take the rematch personally.

I'd like one person to name a more quality opponent for Floyd in the WW division not named Manny Pacquiao. How bout Jan Zaveck or Rafal Jackiewicz,
Mike Jones or Alfonso Gomez. Same goes for Pac, STOP hating. The best possible fights have been made if you've been paying attention. Quit with the Martinez ish because Floyd and Pac are full grown WWs. Neither one of them has ever weighed in over 150 and they aren't going up to JMW because they are done growing. Those fights at JMW were a one time event for the both of them and they both have said it was.

Cotto in his prime i would have said it would have been a tough fight but not now. he looked terrible in his last outing. I respect Cotto and what he's done for the game but Arum ruined Cotto with back to back hard fights then feeds him to a cheater.

Ortiz may not be the prefect opponent, but there is no perfect opponent for Floyd.
He is young and a world title holder. Of course he is ready to take on a big challenge.

U cant complain he is too inexperienced while Manny faces people like Marg and SSM.

Bob made a good point believing that Ortiz is just too inexperience for Mayweather but he shouldn't compare numbers to what Marquez is making against Pacquaio. I mean this is the 3rd fight of that trilogy and Marquez is a far bigger name then Ortiz at the moment

Translation: If i had it my way, I'd control every Boxers in Boxing. I'd control how much money they makes, who they fights, and I'd set up any type of mismatch match-ups that the mainstream public wouldn't wants to see.
