    Can Mayweather KO/TKO Ortiz?

Does Floyd have enough power to put Ortiz to sleep, or punish him severely that itll make Ortiz corner to throw in the towel?

im not even gonna jot down an Ortiz win since we all know this is a tune-up fight.

I totally agree that the towel might be thrown in. When one fighter is getting totally dominated in a low contact affair, it's always possible that the trainer stops the fight to avoid the further humiliation that would come in the remaining rounds that are really unnecessary to determine who is a better fighter.

At the same time, I don't see why a TKO is impossible... Ortiz's chin is not the best, and Floyd's timing is excellent. That's important because he could sneak something in that Ortiz doesn't see, and doesn't have the ability to brace himself for the impact. Those are the punches that hurt the most, according to every single boxer I've heard speak on the subject. Plus, it's true that Mayweather Jr.'s power is somewhat underrated. He is not a killer at 147, but his punches do have a fair amount of pop on them, and he is a somewhat substantial threat to knock someone out who doesn't have the best chin, especially someone who is not completely used to fighting in a new division.

Can he? Yes, and that's exactly what he'll do...stop him. Floyd is a different animal when faced against southpaws, Ortiz better prepare.

Floyd could get him to quit but no he isn't knocking him out...and I can't remember Floyd putting anyone to sleep in recent times...

Yes he can, If Ortiz is going in hard after him and gets caught he can be KO'd no question. Floyds power is grossly underrated. Even Floyds biggest critics would agree that Ortiz cannot win a boxing match with Floyd, which is why the fight is intriguing.

Ortiz will almost certainly be forced to maul and brawl in order to win, applying pressure loading up big shots and essentially forcing Floyd into a tough brawl which is what everyone wants to see. The rub is, he will open himself up by doing this and thus creating an opportunity to be KO'd himself in the process.

                Yes, Floyd can.

I don't see him dropping Ortiz with a check hook ala Hatton, but I can see a barrage of punches catching up to Ortiz and the ref or corner stopping the fight.

Absolutely not. That's like sayin can malonaggi ko Ortiz. The real question is can Ortiz ko floyd. I think one margarito body shot to floyds deformed rib and he quits like a lil b*tch. Ortiz should feint with the jab and throw a hard hook into floyds ribs and the fight is over you can book it
