Mayweather beat DLH@ 175. So PAc fought him at 145lbs.
Mayweather knocked out Hatton when Hatton was on top. Pac fought Hatton after that.
Margarito destroyed Cotto. Then Pacquiao beat him after that.
Cotto beat Clottey. Pac then fought and beat Clottey after that.
Mosley destroyed Margarito. Pac then decided to fight Margarito.
Mayweather dominated Mosley. After 2 years of denying Mosley a shot, his defeat is what prompted Pac to finally give Mosley a shot.
Mayweather announces his fight against Ortiz, the WINNER of a WW world title fight. People are excited. No one is excited about Pac fighting Marquez.
There is no pressure to fight Pac because Pac is a fraud. For a guy the boxing media calls dominant, he has never fought a WW that was on top. His last 6 opponents just came off the biggest losses of their careers.
Floyd is looking to fight the best without using catchweights. Ortiz, like Mosley, was coming off a win. His opponents are on top when he fights them. Why would HBO put pressure on Floyd when its Pacquiao who won't sign the contract? Floyd was ready to fight Pac 2 years ago, but Pac was crying back then about being scared of needles and other bull****.
Pacquiao is playing the "little guy" despite being only 2" shorter than Floyd. He uses catchweights despite always being able to make 147lbs. He fights all the boxers who lose to other first WW champions because he needs to see someone win to get an idea of how to win. There are always excuses made for Pac.
It needs to stop. There are so many suspect details about Pacquiao and his career that its ridiculous .. starting with the fact that he hasn't fought anyone we know until his 41st fight.
Take the test Pac or STFU.
Mayweather ducked Shane Mosley for years and fought him when he was already 38 years old.
Pacquiao fought Cotto, who defeated Mosley years before Mayweather fought Mosley. On the other hand, Mayweather retired rather than face Cotto.
Pacquiao fought Margarito who Floyd shamelessly ducked even when both Floyd and Margarito were being promoted by Arum at the time (Memo to the idiots who posted here and are still insisting that Floyd did not fight Margarito because he did not want to deal with Arum. So, Floyd didn't want to deal with his own promoter? LOL.)
Pacquiao fought Clottey who was a welterweight champion who Mayweather never fought.
Mayweather fought Hatton who was a junior welterweight at welterweight and assisted the turnbuckle in knocking him out in the 10th round. Pacquiao fought Hatton at junior welterweight where he was undefeated and pulverized him in two rounds.

Good read.
I'll confess, FMJ and Pac dangles that carrot in front of me and I bite every time. September and November will be no different, spending $$ or both fights.
September we will see how FMJ handles with a relatively fast hard punching southpaw. And Pac, if he really has improved his technique since 2008.

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.
Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.
"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."With the win (Henry Bruseles), Mayweather sets up a proposed June bout with WBC champion Arturo Gatti, assuming Gatti gets past James Leija next weekend. Mayweather, however, seems to be looking to bigger and better things.
"I'm told that [Shane] Mosley and [Oscar] De La Hoya are going to 147," Mayweather said. "I plan to join them there."
"We're looking for guys like Ricky Hatton and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd Mayweather. So you're seeing now the finishing touches on the emerging superstar, and in 2006 hopefully he will be able to claim the mantle of the real, real superstar."
Hatton emerged as the recognized 140-pound champion with his TKO of Kostya Tszyu June 11. Mayweather, the pound-for-pound king who is also promoted by Arum, stopped Arturo Gatti to claim a junior welterweight title two weeks later.
Cotto against either man would certainly qualify as a super fight, but before either match can be explored seriously, he has to keep winning."Last edited by GRUSTLER; 06-09-2011, 09:41 AM.

After saying belts do nothing but gather dust Floyd will now make a big deal of fighting for the wbc belt he once owned. But he's fighting a guy who quit against Maidana and Floyd knows he'll whoop him then "retire" again with another $20 million in his pocket and avoid fighting Pacman
