You might be surprised. Like John said, once the 24/7 is shown you might change your opinion. Hardcore boxing fans like Ortiz to begin with and view this as an entertaining fight and for casuals once they hear Ortiz's story they will probably fall in love with him. Also, Mayweather is larger than life. I kind of think this will do on par with Mayweather/Mosley. Mayweather is big.

well to be a ppv star you have to fight and beat ppv stars. oscar made floyd and pac ppv stars so maybe golden boy is hoping floyd can do the same for ortiz. of course ortiz would have to win though.

No one is demanding that fight at 147. Once again Manny is giving us a fight that most really don't want to see. Mayweather this time is giving a fight that both casual and hardcore fans are interested in.

You cracked a smile on my face, but we all know Ortiz is gonna kill Mayweather.

I think we all know that Victor Ortiz will just be too good on fight night. Mayweather has never faced someone like Ortiz; young, fast, powerful, explosive, prime, with good feet, and a twelve round gas tank. Gayweather won't know what hit him. This is Ortiz's time to shine, and he won't disappoint.

I'd love for ortiz to win but come on..

Mayweather is too slick for Ortiz. Ortiz will get countered all night. Mayweather is no Berto. Berto is an overrated bum thats one dimensional. Sorry bro..

I think Ortiz will give a pretty good performance and wouldn't be shocked if he pulled the upset. I fully expect Mayweather to win however. GBP is striking while the iron is hot and Ortiz is as big right now as he has ever been. It is probably the biggest and best fight Mayweather could have taken, except for Pacquiao.

Most people have 0 chance of beating Floyd (VO has an ok shot) but he is getting paid millions to fight the best fighter on the Planet. Who wouldn't?

Why not? It's not like floyd lays these career ending beat downs on people, physically ortiz should be fine even if he gets dominated from pillar to post. Vic already came back from damn near oblivion once, I find it hard to believe anything floyd will do to him can be worse then quitting on his stool. His stock might even rise if he has a good showing.

Pac and floyd arent gonna be around forever, if u get a chance to cash in against one of them u take it, no questions asked. And what if ortiz lands a lucky punch? If older then dirt molsey can come off an 18 month lay off and catch floyd like that? Now u got floyd coming off a long ass lay off and he's 34 years old. Vic could hit the MEGA MILLIONS if he plays his cards right.

Dude try and keep up. Pac WAS ducking marquez 3 months ago, but now that he signed to fight him jmm has gotten 3 months older, that makes him a washed up old bum that should be sweeping floors for change...

It's really a win win for GBP and Ortiz if he gives a good performance and loses no shame and he's a household name especially with the way he fights and that's a big payday he's guaranteed it's something you don't pass on bcse he could just as easily lose to some lesser name and then what rebuild again all depending on him at least staying somewhat competitve with Floyd so if he gets outboxed so be it
