the truth is pacquiao faught a margarito who shane mosley had exposed and a cotto would wasnt the same, a ricky hatton who floyd exposed and a drained oscar who floyd had beaten a couple years before, marquez i give pacquaio credit for but alot of people think those fights were draws or marquez won, now i am a fan of manny and respect him but roach has been cherry pickin for him for a long time now, i think pacquiao will fight whoever his handlers tell him too, ortiz just beat convincingly a technical boxer(berto) and is younger and stronger than anyone pacquiaos faced in awhile plus he has speed, if u manny fans hate after the points i just made, then you just dont see facts and are not all there

Ortiz wasn't in the top 10 in his weight class, he has one fight (and a good win it was) at 147 against a guy everyone complained about because he was never tested.
Its a decent scrap but we all know the result, tailor-made journeyman vs Mayweather, being young ain't going to beat Floyd.Comment

Man I'm the first one to give floyd **** when he deserves it, which more often then not he does. But this is not the time for the hate. Floyd signed on to fight a legit 147 pounder who's a south paw, kid is young with ko power. Do I think he's gonna beat floyd, hell no. Is this the best possible fight not named pacquiao, HELL YES. This is a mans move and floyd really stepped up to the plate with it. This ****s on his last two fights put together. I really didn't see him taking this fight but he proved me and a lot of people wrong. Is it even close to a pacquio fight, no...but what is? Martinez was never a serious option and there isn't really anyone left at 147 besides ortiz. Maybe bradley but either way it's a wash, floyd deserves his time to shine. Dude gets crapped on every day, let him have his moment when he earns it.
As for the pac fight, if it never comes off there is no question floyds legacy will take a huge hit, but it's HIS LEGACY. I've never bought into the whole "both sides are to blame" nonsense. One guy is stopping this fight from going down, and it's not manny. Floyd could have fought pac 3 times by now if he wanted to. It's his legacy, it's his life. If he does take out ortiz and doesn't face pac next, hopefully he'll be happy with where his career is and won't have any regrets down the road.
But all in all now is not the time to talk about that ****, floyd is coming back to boxing and is fighting a legit contender who does have the tools to at least make it an interesting scrap for a while. Those are both good things for boxing and boxing fans. He surprised alot of people with this fight, maybe he'll surprise us again after it's over by stepping up to pacquiao. We will have to wait and see.Last edited by JoeDaWg; 06-08-2011, 12:30 PM.Comment

lets say manny takes the test and we get pacquiao vs mayweather. if he loses, skeptics will start doubting the legitimacy of his great victories as he moved up into the higher weight divisions? manny is in a no-win situation. to clear his name, not only will he have to take the test, he must also win..against the undefeated #1 p4p in the sport.Comment
