R.I.P Genaro Hernandez

I'll be the first to admit that I haven't seen very much of Genaro Hernandez in the ring. In fact, the only fight I ever saw him in was against Mayweather, and although he was dominated, I could still tell that he was very skilled, and a fighter that could give almost anyone an extremely though fight on any given night.
After his boxing career was over, I heard him commentate on many matches, and he always struck me as a quite intelligent person, which is a rarity in this sport, where the main goal is hitting others in the head. He was very articulate and insightful, things that are extra difficult to do when speaking a language that is not your first/native language. Beyond that, he always had an air of classiness when he spoke.
He was a joy to watch and a joy to listen to. The news of his untimely death is very sad, especially when considering that he seemed to have his disease beaten just a short while ago. RIP Chicanito, you truly will be missed by the boxing world.Comment
