                Not to make light of this truly sad news. But perhaps this is a passing of the guard sort of omen. Hernandez also a Mexican American passes away on the same day Mayweather Jr. announces his comeback fight against current mexican american champion Victor Ortiz. Ortiz a fighter who at one point was being groomed as the next Golden Boy. After a roller coaster ride of exciting events, Ortiz once again finds himself in position to thrust himself into the public eye and boxing history.

                Hernandez was also the first fighter to make Mayweather a professional world champion. Could Ortiz be in for a small miracle?
