Face it, there's no true doppelganger for either Floyd or Manny, that's just the way it is. they are extremes to their craft.

that being said, Floyd is fighting a reasonable alternative to Manny with Ortiz. He's a lefty, is quick, and hits hard...but not as quick or hard hitting as Manny. Good matchup.

On the other end, you have Manny against Marquez. Good counterpuncher with reasonable boxing skills...either him or Zab Judah are reasonable alternatives to Mayweather. Of course, neither are close to mayweather as well.

The main point is, these two matchups offer a possible sneak peek at the greater matchup that could result.

As such, these matchups don't suck, but could only add fuel to the fire.

      my 2 cents.
I kind of get what you are saying, but the Pac-Mayweather fight is so overdue its not funny. Neither of these two are getting any younger and by the time they get to fight they are going to be past prime.

It will have been 3 years, 3 YEARS!!! since Floyd came back to fight Manny. Its bs, and there is absolutely no excuse for it.

I dont like either fight, and to those that say Ortiz is a good opponent for Floyd after 16 months off, I say Why the *** did he have 16 months off for when he came back specifically to fight one guy?

Its bs, and as a boxing fan I am glad that there is a lot of good stuff happening away from this, but I feel cheated by these two ****ers.

Mayweather vs Ortiz is by far the better fight.
Pacquaio vs Marquez is a good fight to.

            Floyd vs Ortiz

Why? Because it is something NEW! It is something we haven't seen BEFORE!

Ortiz is somewhat of a threat because he is young, he has power and he is left handed plus Mayweather is coming off of a Layoff...even though I don't think a "LAYOFF" will effect Mayweather much but you never know

Ortiz is not even listed in the top ten of p4p list, how come he's a better threat than Marquez?

If PAc JMM III is at 140 then I think it gets way more votes.

Wow what a moron, by your logic Pacquiao is a bigger threat to Klitschko than Haye because he's top of the P4P list.

Mayweather/Ortiz by a landslide. If Pac and Marquez were fighting between 135 and 140 I'd vote for that, but Pac is fighting the same bloated Marquez that Mayweather did in 2009.
