Seriously, I have no interest in seeing either look like a superstar against bums anymore.

Make the fight. They seemingly both want it. Unless they're bluffing with these expression of interests/offers, and are just gonna dance around each other. Which, quite frankly, wouldn't surprise me.

LOL, if you say so, but I agree with that guy. I give Kessler credit for Calzaghe (not so much for the Gay hand-injury excuse), but that was 4 years ago and it's all he's got in the way of stepping out of his comfort zone -- unless you're counting Mundine, LOL -- in a career which is now past its prime.

When Mikkel went over to fight Ward, he thought he was going over to bash up up a still-green kid...and got completely schooled, led by the hand like a small child. You can't say that fighting Ward was perceived to be a big challenge - Kessler was favorite for the tourney and roundly favored against Ward, tipped by many to KO him, and only guys like me were tipping Ward to be able to upset him, with Ward's fanfare having become pretty muted since his pro debut, and the consensus around him being that he was still something of a prospect in need of more seasoning before he could have a chance at beating a guy like Kessler.

It's not an outlandish stretch at all to say that Kessler isn't nearly as motivated to meet a challenge as both Carl and Dre are. In fact, "history" bears the claim out, as Ward is already amassing a healthier CV than Mikkel, despite being his junior by some way. I'm not saying Kessler's scared of anyone, just that he's never exactly gone all-out to push himself to the limit at any point of his once-overrated career.

All of that is the truth, but you can cry if you want to.

Kessler took on Andre ' I only fight in my backyard' Ward in California.

Ward does not love a challenge. He loves it being as easy as possible for him. He beat Abraham and Green. They are terrible.
      LOL,

Let's look at Ward's title run. Gave Kessler the spanking of his life, a Kessler who was favored to beat him and win Super Six. Dominated Green from bell to bell, the guy who was put in front of him, decent fighter, not terrible, just a decent win, certainly a better fighter than some of the deeply mediocre fare your idol feasted on BITD. Was perfectly ready to fight Dirrell, but couldn't, so chose Sakio Bika for a keep-busy, one of the worst, most bruising, awkward styles you could choose to try to look good against, specifically because he wanted a hard fight to keep himself active, instead of a Pudwill. Outclassed Abraham, who isn't "terrible", but a dangerous fighter, period, who quite possibly would have gotten Dirrell out of there and only legitimately lost to the 2 best guys in the division - there's no evidence at all to suggest Abe is "terrible" or possesses no threat. There's much evidence to suggest, though, that danger isn't something Kessler actively seeks on a career basis. If we're not giving credit to Ward for Abraham, then Kessler deserves none for kicking Andrade's ass in Denmark. That guy was a limited chin-on-a-stick.

If you're too slow to have already noticed that Ward relishes a challenge far more than Kessler and has far bigger balls, then you'll definitely notice it by the end of both mens' careers.

Ward won all of his title fights legitimately, BTW, against solid comp the whole way, being easily the deserved victor in every one, so stop crying.

Kessler-Bute is never going to happen.

Neither man wants to take a risk and both feel entitled to a shot at the Super 6 winner without having to beat anyone significant to earn it.

We're more likely to see Mayweather-Pacquiao or Gamboa-Lopez next.
