Team Bute: We are still waiting for a reply from Mikkel Kessler.

Danish TV2 has today spoken to Press Officer David Messier from IBF champion Lucian Bute's promotor Interbox. He says:

"We have given Kessler a serious offer. They said they wanted to wait untill saturdays fight with Mehdi Bouadla was over before replying. Now we are waiting."

Mikkel Kessler's promotor Kalle Sauerland told the network, that they are waiting for the new SMW rankings from WBO.

"If Kessler becomes mandatory for Robert Stieglitz WBO title we will decide which is the better option", Sauerland says.

    Come on Kess, fight Bute.

Stieglitz is just a foregone conclusion.

If Kessler hides needlessly from one of the sport's biggest chumpy show-ponies, then either of Ward or Froch will show Mikkel how real men do business...by smashing Loose Bootay up after the Super Six Boxing Classic.

It does seem unfair though. Especially if it was Froch that somehow squeaked past Ward. Froch deserves to fight a bit of journeyman in his hometown and get heavily compensated for it.

          Stieglitz is the safer pick.

Its probably the smarter pick coming off the layoff.

But its a bad look after he sorta challenged him on air after the Bute-Magee fight

This is what Froch and Ward do it for, though - they both love a challenge, the total opposite of Kessler's tentative mentality.

Either of my boys are gonna smash Lucy Bootay's dumbly grinning jaw to smithereens...and watching it will be the biggest sporting buzz of whichever calendar year it happens in.

Fighting the German and then unifying against Bute is the smart move. It pretty much guarantees him 2 good pay days, rather than potentially 1 as Bute is dangerous. Allthough kessler looked good in his last performance, fighting another fight which is a step up in class but not the level of the guys he was fighting before the injury isn't a bad move, it will get him sharper, as well as giving him more leverage when he goes to the negotiating table with Bute.

Well think about it for a sec.

Kessler beats Stiglitz and gets the WBO title, then you have Kessler vs Bute for WBO and IBF titles, winner obviously becomes the IBF/WBO champion, winner waits for Ward-Froch, which Ward is the WBA champ and Froch is the WBC champ. Ward/Froch vs Kessler/Bute for all 4 major titles.

I am sorry, I am a hardcore boxing fan and I know titles don't mean shit now, but damn fighting for all FOUR major titles does mean something.

If the plan is a huge unification match at the end, then I am all for Kessler vs Stiglitz. Besides Stiglitz doesn't deserve the title, I rather see Kessler with it.

Wauw. What a silly comment. Totally ignoring history there.

                    .
                    What are you talking about?

Kessler took on Andre ' I only fight in my backyard' Ward in California.

Ward does not love a challenge. He loves it being as easy as possible for him. He beat Abraham and Green. They are terrible.
