Chavez Sr: "Freddie Roach is good, but he doesn't know more than me."

JCC plans to be part of Junior's training camp. He said "Yes, I will be joining their training. Freddie Roach is good, but he doesn't know more than me. Now comes the first defense against Miguel Cotto and he must be better."

Where did you get this from? Where's the link?

Because Roach won't put up with this type of ****, he's in total control of his training camp.

I'm just waiting to hear the WBC's excuse on not making Chavez Jr fight Martinez. Although I think Martinez should fight Pirog it's obvious he's gonna go for a bigger money fight in Chavez.

Well isn't this great. IMO Roach is such a bad coach for a guy like Chavez, I dnt get why he's there...ah well the kid thrives off of top rank matchmaking anyways.

Roach has never taught a fighter to fight tall. Chavez is using his tools all wrong. He should not be fighting on the inside. Its all wrong for his body type. Not to mention Roach is not a defensive coach. That's the biggest gaping hole in Chavez's game. Last fight once again illustrated that.

Roach is overrated and one dimensional but I do not know how good Chavez Sr is as a trainer. He was a good boxer not sure as a trainer. As a boxer he is obviously his son's greatest critic and he can see through the lies of Roach.I wouldnt rule out this statement but without a link I will wait for more credible sources before I believe this.

“Yes, I will be joining their training,” Chavez told ESTO. “Freddie Roach is good, but he doesn’t know more than me. Now comes the first defense against Miguel Cotto (October 1 or and he must be better.”

Chavez will be immortalized in Canastota along with Kostya Tszyu, Mike Tyson, trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain, referee Joe Cortez and Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone.
